    Responsibilities:

    • Provide Paralegal Support: Assist the office’s legal team by offering paralegal services to individuals eligible for legal aid.
    • Address Non-Litigious Issues: Identify and resolve legal matters that do not require litigation.
    • Identify Litigious Cases: Recognize legal cases that require litigation and refer them to legal practitioners for further handling.
    • Manage Legal Administration: Take charge of administrative tasks related to legal processes.
    • Maintain Client Database: Ensure the accuracy and currency of information in the client database.
    • Conduct Client Interviews: Interview individuals seeking legal assistance to gather relevant information.
    • Assist with Form Completion: Aid clients in completing necessary legal forms accurately and comprehensively.

    Required Competencies (Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes):

    • Educational Qualifications: Possession of a National Senior Certificate (Matric) and completion of a 1-year paralegal qualification.
    • Computer Proficiency: Ability to effectively use computer applications and software.
    • Experience in Land Rights: Previous experience in handling matters related to land rights.
    • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on accuracy and precision in work tasks.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Capacity to engage and build relationships effectively across various levels.
    • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Driver’s License: Possession of a valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s license is advantageous
