    Responsibilities

    The successful candidate for the Entry level Registry Clerk position will be responsible for:

    • Registry Counter Services:
      • Providing assistance to clients.
      • Opening and closing files according to the record classification system.
      • Filing, storing, tracing (electronically/manually), and retrieving documents and files.
      • Completing index cards for all files.
    • Office Machine Operations:
      • Operating office machines related to the registry function.
      • Opening and maintaining the franking machine register.
      • Franking post, recording money, and updating the register daily.
      • Undertaking spot checks on post to ensure no private post is included.
      • Locking post in the postbag for messengers to deliver to the Post Office.
    • Remittance Handling:
      • Opening and maintaining the remittance register.
      • Recording all valuable articles in the remittance register.
      • Hand delivering and signing over remittances to finance.
      • Sending wrong remittances back to sender via registered post and recording the reference number in the register.
      • Keeping a daily record of the number of letters franked.

    Requirements

    • Education: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
