Logistics Information Controller Role Summary
As a Logistics Information Controller, you will be responsible for providing analytical data to operational departments within the warehouse and managing retailer claims. This role requires strong leadership and financial acumen to ensure that processes run smoothly and in compliance with company standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Administrative and Financial Control
- Document and implement control policies and procedures.
- Compile management and head office reports on expenses and recoveries.
- Manage expenses in line with budgets, highlighting exceptions.
- Handle supplier queries related to purchase orders (POs) and payments.
- Maintain and update warehouse administration assets register.
2. Claims Management
- Oversee the claims department to ensure claims are managed effectively.
- Lead and mentor the claims team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement development plans.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding claims analysis.
- Monitor the claims portal and ensure timely resolutions.
3. Strategic Oversight
- Assist with warehouse annual budgeting and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance during internal and external audits.
- Update Spar’s processes and procedure documents for logistics functions.
- Monitor and improve departmental efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, and manage team members, ensuring optimal performance.
- Implement disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with company policies.
- Manage shift requirements, attendance, and staff performance.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- A Matric Certificate.
- Diploma or Degree in Financial Management.
- At least 2 years of experience in Financial Administration.
- Proven ability to lead teams and develop employees.
- Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and other financial systems.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours when required.
- A thorough understanding of budgeting, financial controls, and process improvement.
