    1. Engineering Learner – Fitting

    The primary purpose of the Engineering Learner – Fitting programme is to provide an opportunity for successful candidates to participate in a fitting and machining engineering learnership programme. This programme aims to help candidates attain artisanship by means of trade testing.

    Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

    To be considered for this learnership, candidates must meet the following qualifications and requirements:

    • Educational Qualifications: Completed N2 or NCV4 certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
      • Subjects at N2 level must include Mathematics, Engineering Science, Fitters trade theory, and Engineering drawing.
    • Trade Understanding: Must have a basic understanding of the applicable trade.
    • Health Requirements: Medically fit for both plants (PMR and BMR).

    Duties and Responsibilities

    The learnership spans thirty-six (36) months, with a structured training programme under the auspices of the Mining Qualification Authority (SETA). The programme will provide the incumbent with a solid understanding of how to perform first-line maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure the plant/operations performance is maintained within normal operating parameters.
