The Western Cape Government’s Mobility Department is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join their team as a Deputy Director of Fleet Repair and Maintenance. Minimum Requirements
- Required Degree: An appropriate 3-year National Diploma or B-Degree (or a higher qualification).
- Management Experience: A minimum of 3 years at the middle management level specifically in fleet management.
- Driving License: Must possess a valid code B (or higher) driving license.
- Experience in budget and financial management, human resource management, supply chain management, client services, and mechanical/technical/engineering or tender background.

Competencies and Skills
- Knowledge: Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act, National Treasury Regulations, Provincial Treasury Instructions, and the Handbook for Government Motor Transport.
- Skills: Strong communication, planning and organizing, problem solving and decision making, research, presentation, and computer literacy (MS Office package).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily activities of the Mobility Transport Repair and Maintenance (MT RM) client care centre.
- Manage the GMT Repairs and Maintenance Coordination (RMC) section.
- Supervise the GMT Quality Assurance (QA) section.
- Control the GMT Related Supplier Management section and ensure timely payment of RiM invoices.
- Handle policy and contract management along with providing management support services.
- Oversee human capital management within the department.
