The South African Police Service (SAPS) is offering graduates in Gauteng through its SAPS Internships for the year 2024/2025. As part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy, these internships are designed to equip graduates with practical skills and professional experience in the public service sector.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for an internship at SAPS, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must hold a National Senior Certificate or its equivalent (NCV Level 4).
  • Must not have any previous criminal convictions or pending cases.
  • Must be unemployed, have not been employed in the field of the post advertised, and not have participated in any relevant internship program.
  • Must reside in Gauteng, the province where the internship is offered.
  • Can apply for a maximum of three positions, with a separate application form for each.

Selection Process for SAPS Internships

  • Fingerprint Screening: This initial step involves checking the fingerprints of all shortlisted candidates against national databases to verify identity and ensure that candidates have no criminal records or undisclosed legal issues.
