    Key Responsibilities

    As an Executive Assistant intern, the candidate will play a key role in supporting the COO and ensuring smooth operations within the office. The following tasks will be part of the intern’s day-to-day duties:

    Strategic Executive Support

    Proactively manage the COO’s busy calendar, prioritizing tasks that align with business objectives. This will involve helping develop executive dashboards, preparing performance reports, and providing decision-ready information for the COO. The intern will support key initiatives, such as financial system implementations and cost optimization projects.

    Meeting and Governance Facilitation

    The intern will help organize and coordinate executive meetings, ensuring that agendas, pre-reads, and follow-up actions are taken care of. This includes documenting minutes and ensuring key decisions and action items are tracked with accountability. The intern will also coordinate leadership forums, including media partner summits and board meetings.

    Communication and Stakeholder Management

    Serving as a primary point of contact for the COO’s communications with various stakeholders, the intern will be responsible for managing the COO’s emails, calls, and requests. Additionally, the intern will draft high-impact communications, such as emails, memos, and speeches. The intern will also manage sensitive and confidential documents with high levels of discretion.

    Travel and Budget Management

    Coordinating both domestic and international travel arrangements for the COO, managing budget reconciliation, and overseeing procurement for the office will also be part of the role. Ensuring financial documentation complies with corporate governance protocols is key to this position.

    Qualifications and Experience

    To qualify for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • A Diploma/Degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is essential, while knowledge of additional South African languages would be beneficial.
