    Main Purpose of the Position

    This job focuses on procurement and supply chain management. The Supply Chain Officer ensures that the organization purchases goods and services efficiently, legally, and economically. You’ll be expected to manage suppliers, support departments with their purchasing needs, and follow correct procedures at all times.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this position, you need to meet the following:

    • Education: National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
    • Accreditation: Must be registered with SACQSP or another recognized professional body.
    • Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the public sector.
    • Technical Skills:
      • Knowledge of SCM frameworks like PFMA, PPPFA, and National Treasury Regulations.
      • Familiarity with MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
      • Experience using SAGE or similar ERP software is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of Compliance:
      • BBBEE and other procurement regulations.
      • Contract management and tender procedures.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    Your job will include:

    • Coordinating all procurement activities according to SACSSP’s Supply Chain policies.
    • Receiving and checking goods and services for accuracy.
    • Creating purchase orders and sourcing suppliers.
    • Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring value for money.
    • Keeping accurate and up-to-date procurement records.
    • Attending management and section meetings when required.
    • Assisting with audits and ensuring compliance with SCM laws and guidelines.
    • Providing advice and support to internal staff regarding procurement processes.
    • Communicating with external stakeholders.
