    The Role: Sales Assistant

    The Sales Assistant at Crocs Gateway will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory, ensuring smooth daily operations, and supporting merchandising efforts. The role is designed for individuals who are passionate about customer interaction, sales, and working in a dynamic retail environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Customer Service & Sales
      • Acknowledge and greet every customer within 30 seconds of entering the store, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
      • Provide personalized customer service by identifying the customer’s needs and using your product knowledge to recommend the best items to meet those needs.
      • Actively close sales, and encourage additional purchases by upselling or suggesting complementary products.
      • Monitor individual sales performance and meet or exceed daily targets, ensuring goals are consistently met.
    2. Inventory Management
      • Replenish the store with footwear, apparel, and accessories from the storeroom on a daily basis.
      • Minimize stock shrinkage by adhering to store zoning practices and ensuring customers are acknowledged and attended to promptly.
      • Maintain accurate stock records in the POS system, ensuring all stock entries are correct.
      • Assist with processing deliveries, checking quantities against invoices, tagging, hanging, pricing products, and updating the POS system.
    3. Daily Operations
      • Ensure the store remains clean and tidy by taking care of housekeeping tasks, including dusting, cleaning mirrors, vacuuming, and emptying bins.
      • Support the store manager with opening and closing the store, ensuring all procedures are followed.
    4. Training & Development
      • Take responsibility for your training and development, making sure you are allocated a buddy initially and learn from their experience.
      • Attend quarterly training sessions and complete assessments to stay up-to-date with product knowledge and store procedures.
      • Receive regular feedback from your manager and set up monthly meetings to discuss progress through the Hey Dude rookie pack, which is essential for promotion eligibility.
    5. Merchandising
      • Help maintain the store’s visual standards by ensuring stock is well-presented and sizes are replenished.
      • Assist the team in changing windows and mannequins on a fortnightly basis.
      • Ensure that POS materials are stored correctly to avoid damage.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    The ideal candidate for the Sales Assistant role at Crocs Gateway should have:

    • A Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
    • A minimum of one year of experience in customer service, ideally in a retail environment.
    • Product knowledge of Crocs products is advantageous but not essential.
    • The ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
