    Payroll Clerk Vacancy Requirements

    To be considered for the Payroll Clerk position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Education: Matric (Grade 12).
    • Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification of at least three years, preferably a National Diploma or B. Com in Financial Accounting as a major subject.
    • Experience: A minimum of six months to two years of experience in an expenditure or payroll unit.
    • Knowledge:
      • Familiarity with Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA).
      • Previous experience working with MUNSOFT is an added advantage.
    • Skills:
      • Strong computer literacy.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    Key Performance Areas

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

    1. Payroll Processing
      • Receiving payroll adjustments from the HR department.
      • Capturing changes in the payroll system.
      • Capturing salaries in the financial system.
      • Ensuring that all payslips are printed on time.
    2. Third-Party Payments
      • Preparing payments to third parties.
      • Submitting payment schedules for all third-party payments.
    3. Administrative Duties
      • Attending to internal and external audit queries.
      • Filling copies of payslips.
      • Filing payroll-related documents.
