SUPERSPAR Midrand is currently offering employment opportunities for individuals seeking positions in the retail sector. The store is recruiting for two positions: Merchandiser (four vacancies available) and Cashier (one vacancy available). Qualified candidates who meet the requirements are encouraged to apply.
1. Merchandiser Position – (Four Vacancies Available)
Purpose of the Role:
The role of the merchandiser is to order, merchandise, and display products while assisting customers in the store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counting and ordering stock
- Replenishing stock according to the agreed layout
- Reducing stock damage on the sales floor
- Building and maintaining product displays as per supervisor instructions
- Keeping the stock room neat and ensuring that no open cases or loose stock are left unattended
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:
- A minimum of two years of retail experience
- Matric or NQF Level 4 equivalent
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of hygiene and housekeeping practices
- Basic product knowledge (advantageous)
- Good communication skills
2. Cashier Position – (One Vacancy Available)
Purpose of the Role:
The cashier is responsible for accurately and courteously processing customer purchases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining point-of-sale (POS) systems, debit card terminals, and speed points
- Scanning customer purchases accurately
- Replenishing consumable products
- Managing cash transactions, including cash-up and float balancing daily
- Maintaining adequate change at all times
- Depositing cash into the smart box throughout the day
- Handling all front-end products with care
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with customers
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Required:
- Matric qualification
- Previous cashier experience or a part-time cashier trainee role
- Strong arithmetic and calculation skills
- Good reading and comprehension ability
- Strong communication skills
- Effective time management
