    Honours 4th Year Students

    • 3 scholarships available
    • Value R15000 for one year
    • Bonus 1 year complimentary SAAB membership

    MSc Students

    • 3 scholarships available
    • Value R50000 R25000 in Year 1 and R25000 in Year 2 if results are satisfactory
    • Bonus 2 year complimentary SAAB membership

    Successful applicants will be notified by

    • Mid March 2025 for MSc studies
    • Mid April 2025 for Honours studies

    Eligibility Criteria Who Can Apply

    To qualify for the SAAB Scholarship 2025 applicants must meet the following minimum requirements

    • Be a resident of a SADC country including
      • South Africa Namibia Botswana Zambia Zimbabwe Lesotho Swaziland Angola Malawi DRC Tanzania Seychelles Mozambique Mauritius Madagascar Comoros
    • Be pursuing a postgraduate qualification in botany or a related field
    • Have a minimum overall average of 70 percent in previous studies
    • Be enrolled at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa
    • Have a supervisor who is a paid up SAAB member
    • For MSc students
      • Must have completed a BSc Honours degree with a minimum of 70 percent
      • Must be in the first year of MSc study
