ICT Support and Network Technical Support Job Description
As an ICT Support and Network Technical Support Level 1, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing AVBOB’s network systems.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Network Management: Establishing and maintaining data and voice networks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the overall health and functionality of network systems across AVBOB’s offices, including Head Office.
- Technical Planning & Support: Actively contributing to the technical planning, design, and ongoing support of network systems. You’ll be responsible for providing technical advice on networks and supporting both wired and wireless systems.
- Vendor Coordination: Managing relationships with external vendors, coordinating network needs, and ensuring that third-party service providers meet AVBOB’s requirements.
- System Documentation & Reporting: Documenting system plans, activities, network configurations, and updates, and preparing management reports.
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing malfunctions in network systems, troubleshooting routers, switches, and other equipment, and ensuring all issues are resolved to ensure business continuity.
- Backup & System Maintenance: Coordinating regular backups of switch and router configurations, and overseeing software maintenance schedules.
Your role will require you to implement network solutions that ensure optimal uptime and reliability while offering guidance to the business regarding network technologies and cost management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice on networking solutions, system upgrades, and troubleshooting
- Ensure network systems are stable by performing scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting issues
- Work with external vendors to manage service level agreements (SLAs)
- Stay updated with the latest networking products and technologies, ensuring that AVBOB’s network systems stay current with industry advancements
Job Requirements
- A relevant Degree in Networking
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in Data
- A minimum of 3 years’ technical experience in networking
- At least 2 years of experience managing third-party suppliers
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise networks, routing, and switching
- Familiarity with premise cabling design and installation
