Driving Instructor Job Description
This position focuses on providing top-notch driver training, both in-classroom and hands-on, to ensure compliance with industry best practices and quality standards. It also includes regional branch visits and flexible working hours, such as night shifts and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Driving Instructor Certification:
- K53 driving instructor certification or a valid certificate from the Provincial Traffic Training College or MasterDrive Institution.
- Educational Background:
- Grade 12 / NQF 4.
- Security Certifications:
- PSIRA Grades E-B.
- Assessor Registration:
- Registered with ETDP SETA & SASSETA.
- Language Proficiency:
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Clean Criminal Record:
This is non-negotiable.
Required Experience
- At least 3 years of experience as a K53 driving instructor in a similar or related industry.

Responsibilities
As a driving instructor at Fidelity Services Group, you will be responsible for:
- Training & Assessment:
- Conduct driver training interventions as per the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Facilitate learnerships to meet competence standards.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to legislative guidelines (SASSETA, PSIRA, NKP, SAPS, DoL, PFTC, CAA, QCTO).
- Operational Duties:
- Conduct daily road training with six staff assessments per shift.
- Include two weekend day shifts and four night shifts monthly.
- Provide weekly reports on accidents, trends, and assessments.
- Pre-employment driving assessments.
- Performance Metrics:
- Reduce Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) rate to 0.75 within the KZN region.
