    Dis-Chem is offering an internship opportunity for a Pharma Inventory Graduate to assist in inventory planning within the Pharma Category. The position’s primary goal is to support the management of stock, vendor relations, and the replenishment processes across Dis-Chem’s distribution centres. You will play a vital role in maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring the timely availability of products.

    Key Responsibilities

    As a Pharma Inventory Graduate Intern, you will be expected to:

    1. Vendor Relations and Agreements

    • Assist with the creation and updating of vendor agreements.
    • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for new and renewed vendor agreements.
    • Track vendor performance and maintain professional communication with all vendors.
    • Help coordinate logistics for vendor meetings and track contract compliance in collaboration with the legal team.

    2. Stock Management and Allocation

    • Monitor and manage stock levels in the distribution centres (DCs), ensuring timely stock replenishment.
    • Process orders, ensuring compliance with scheduling and stock levels.
    • Resolve any inbound order issues, including discrepancies or returns.
    • Minimize out-of-stock situations by monitoring and managing back orders and stock allocation.

    3. Category Inventory Maintenance

    • Review dormant stock reports and manage stock write-off recommendations.
    • Track short-dated or expired stock, ensuring that actions are taken to prevent wastage.
    • Support the return of stock to vendors in line with company policies.
    • Maintain inventory targets such as stock turn, stock on hand, and sell-through rates.

    4. Category Administration

    • Ensure the maintenance of accurate product information in the Master Data team.
    • Support the communication of product-related issues and claims to relevant departments.
    • Actively manage heat calls to address urgent inventory concerns.

    5. Stakeholder Partnership

    • Work closely with Distribution Centre (DC) operators to ensure the timely delivery of stock.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders across marketing, sales, and finance to resolve any inventory or stock issues.
    • Participate in meetings, providing updates and contributing to company initiatives.

    Minimum Requirements

    The successful candidate must meet the following essential criteria:

    • Educational Qualification: Matric (Senior Certificate) and a Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement.
