Artisan (Electrician) Job Summary
The Electrical Artisan will be responsible for maintaining and managing the hospital’s technical department. This includes equipment maintenance, facilities management, and ensuring the availability of relevant machinery. The ideal candidate will work closely with hospital management to ensure all electrical systems comply with safety regulations and operate efficiently.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
To qualify for this role, candidates must have the following:
Educational Qualifications:
- Electrical / Mechanical Diploma / N6
- National Trade Certificate
Work Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Hospital experience is non-negotiable
Job Responsibilities
1. Facilities and Machinery Maintenance
- Conduct daily checks on hospital machinery and electrical equipment.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Complete jobs as per job card instructions and hospital standards.
- Perform new electrical installations and upgrades for machinery and hospital equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
- Report equipment faults and deviations to the Hospital Manager and Line Manager.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring technical or mechanical failures.
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of industrial appliances and hospital electrical systems.
2. Supervising Contractors and Outsourced Services
- Inspect and approve contractors’ work to ensure compliance with CHG standards.
- Conduct risk assessments before any work is carried out.
- Issue work permits for external contractors operating on site.
3. Operations and Maintenance Plan Execution
- Implement, monitor, and control technical maintenance processes in accordance with hospital policies.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, governance regulations, and safety protocols.
