The Young Creatives Programme is a collaborative effort between the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA). Its aim is to empower young individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities while building personal and professional skills in the creative field.
Key Programme Functions
As a participant in the Young Creatives Programme, you will be tasked with:
- Promoting Arts and Culture in Communities and Schools:
- Implementing arts and cultural activities at Community Arts Centres and schools.
- Mobilising schools and youth groups to participate in activities related to the Young Creatives Programme.
- Driving Community Engagement:
- Organising and supporting events and initiatives within the Young Creatives Programme.
- Strengthening Partnerships:
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with community organisations, youth groups, and other stakeholders.
- Administrative Excellence:
- Managing and monitoring the Young Creatives Programme’s implementation in schools and arts centres.
- Fostering Personal Development:
- Committing to personal and professional growth during the programme.
Applicant Requirements
To qualify for the Young Creatives Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate is mandatory. Tertiary qualifications will be an added advantage.
- Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Passion for the Arts: A demonstrated interest in arts, culture, and community service.
- Skills: Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication abilities.
- Professionalism: Proven organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Personal Traits: Self-initiative, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
Monthly Stipend
Participants in the Young Creatives Programme will receive a monthly stipend of R4,000 during their tenure.
