Over-the-Counter Assistant Job Description
As an Over-the-Counter Assistant, you will support UNISA’s Despatch Department by helping with picking, packing, and shipping study materials for students who choose the counter collection option during registration. This role is essential in ensuring students receive their study materials promptly and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
As an Over-the-Counter Assistant, your duties will include:
- Picking, Packing, and Shipping: Handling already packed study parcels for students.
- Collection Monitoring: Managing uncollected study materials and removing items not picked up within three days unless prior arrangements are made.
- Recording: Keeping accurate records of collected materials to track what has been collected, by whom, and the quantity.
- Warehouse Support: Assisting with other warehouse tasks as needed, including the preparation of parcels for dispatch.
- Health and Safety: Adhering to occupational health and safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Matric/Grade 12 certificate.
- Current UNISA Student: You must be enrolled in UNISA with proof of registration for 2024.
Desired Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Candidates should possess the following:
- Microsoft Office Skills: Familiarity with MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to think critically and handle issues independently.
