Selection Process for the Matriculant of the Year

Step 1: Semi-Finalists Selection
Once the applications are reviewed, the judges will select 25 semi-finalists based on the information provided in the application forms. These semi-finalists will be assessed according to a points scale.
Step 2: Finalists Selection and Interviews
From the 25 semi-finalists, 14 finalists will be chosen to participate in interviews with a panel of esteemed judges. These interviews will take place in October 2025, and the finalists will be assessed based on their personal achievements, leadership potential, and spirited personalities.
Step 3: Announcing the Winner
The winner will be the Matriculant of the Year, chosen based on their personal achievements and how they stand out in terms of character, leadership, and academic excellence. The announcement will be made at a prestigious gala dinner, and the winner will receive the bursary and other incredible prizes.
Eligibility Requirements for the Bursary Competition
To be eligible for the UFS & Media24 Matriculant of the Year Bursary Competition, you must meet the following criteria:
- Current Matric Student: You must be enrolled in Matric in 2025, with plans to study full-time at UFS in 2026.
- Top Achiever: You should be a student who excels in academics, sports, culture, or leadership, demonstrating exceptional potential.
- Diverse Schooling Backgrounds: Whether attending a Quintile 1-5 school, a private school, or being home-schooled, you are encouraged to apply.
