Trainee Draughtsperson Job Purpose
As a Trainee Draughtsperson at Ethekwini Municipality, your primary role will be to use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to prepare construction drawings for water reticulation projects. You’ll be responsible for gathering information, applying technical draughting procedures, and producing accurate plans and drawings that are essential for the planning and implementation of water and wastewater-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Extracting Cadastral Information: Utilize GIS software to extract cadastral data and manipulate survey CAD data from the Survey Division.
- Drawing Preparation: Add relevant information to drawings, such as other services, and undertake field investigations to validate extracted data and identify potential issues that could impact construction.
- Equipment Operation: Operate peripheral devices, including plotters and printers, to produce final drawings.
- Information Gathering and Application: Establish and confirm technical information, principles, and applications necessary for water and wastewater projects.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: Update technical information systems and manage specific information requests.
