    Minimum Requirements for Applicants

      • A basic Traffic Officer Diploma issued by an approved traffic training centre

      • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience as a Traffic Officer

      • A valid Code B driver’s license
    4. Registration:
      • Proof of registration as an authorised officer with the National Department of Transport (RTMC)

      • Eligibility to obtain a competency certificate for appointment as a Peace Officer
      • Eligibility to obtain a firearm competency certificate
      • Successful candidates will need to comply with competency and registration requirements for authorised officers under the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996.
      • A medical certificate to prove fitness for strenuous physical activities
      • Candidates must also be able to drive a motor vehicle and will undergo a driving evaluation assessment
