Who Can Apply for the Strategy and Media Liaison Internship?
To be eligible for this Strategy and Media Liaison Internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 18 – 35 years old
- Be a South African citizen
- Reside in Gauteng Province
- Hold one of the following in Public Relations, Media Studies, Journalism, Communication, or Social Science:
- National Diploma
- BA Degree
- B Tech
- Honours or Master’s
- Be an unemployed graduate who has not previously participated in a government internship
- Have completed their academic studies
- If experiential training is required to graduate, this internship will help fulfill that requirement
- Have studied at a recognized institution of higher learning in South Africa
Candidates who have already participated in a government internship are not eligible to apply.
Roles and Responsibilities in the Strategy and Media Liaison Internship
Interns in the Strategy and Media Liaison Internship will be responsible for:
- Assisting with media strategy development and public relations
- Supporting media liaison and communication efforts
- Writing and managing content for press releases, social media, and government publications
- Assisting in public engagement activities and stakeholder communication
- Conducting research on media trends and communication strategies
- Helping to coordinate public relations campaigns
- Performing other duties as assigned within the Strategy and Media Liaison team
