Site Agent – Security Job Description
Servest Security is currently hiring for the position of Site Agent in Secunda, Mpumalanga. As a Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of security services on site, ensuring that all contractual requirements are met, and maintaining a high level of service. The position reports directly to the Contract Manager and requires a candidate with a strong leadership background, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of security management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Site Agent at Servest Security, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Building and Maintaining Client Relationships:
- You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with various merchants and stakeholders regarding the fleet services provided by Servest Security. This ensures a smooth operation of security services at all times.
- Managing Security Staff and Operations:
- You will oversee security officers on site to ensure they meet the contractual requirements stipulated by the client. This includes evaluating the service levels provided and making recommendations for improvements when necessary. You will also ensure that security staff is effectively managed, and that performance levels are always met.
- Risk Assessments and Service Evaluation:
- Part of your role will be to conduct risk assessments and evaluations of the service provided. You will be responsible for making recommendations to improve security services based on your findings, ensuring that all potential risks are addressed proactively.
- Staff Management and HR Responsibilities:
- You will manage security personnel and handle HR-related queries, including formulating and implementing disciplinary actions when necessary. Your leadership and organizational skills will be key in creating an efficient and cohesive team.
- Operational Liaison:
- Daily communication with management and regional management will be crucial for the smooth running of operations. You will liaise with various departments to address any operational issues that may arise, ensuring that the security services continue without interruption.
- Fleet and Vehicle Management:
- As a Site Agent, you will also be responsible for managing the Servest fleet in Secunda, including fuel allocation, vehicle services, and repairs. This includes monitoring the allocated kilometers traveled as per the client’s scope of work, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained before exceeding the limits.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Timely submission of reports will be a crucial part of your role. You will be expected to submit weekly and monthly incident and general reports to management, as well as maintaining proper documentation and archiving control.
- Health and Safety Oversight:
- Ensuring the health and safety of both the staff and the premises under your supervision is critical. You will be expected to have a good understanding of health and safety protocols and to implement them effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
- Matric/Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent is required. Having a relevant higher qualification will be beneficial.
- PSIRA Registration:
- Applicants must be registered with PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority) at Grade A/B level.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the security industry is essential. Previous experience in a management role will be advantageous.
- Firearm Competency:
- You must possess working knowledge of the Firearm Act and hold firearm competency for business purposes.
- Leadership Skills:
- You should have proven experience in managing a team, with strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer Literacy:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Health and Safety Experience:
- A good understanding of health and safety protocols is necessary to ensure the safety of all staff and the premises.
- Criminal Record:
- You must have no criminal record or any pending cases.
- Driver’s License and Transport:
