Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Matric or Senior Certificate.
- PSIRA Grade C accreditation.
- At least three years of experience in security within the retail industry, including shopping malls and warehouses.
Advantageous:
- One year of specific experience in a similar role.
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of PSIRA regulations.
- Exposure to fire and health safety protocols.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Knowledge of a third language is advantageous.

Job Responsibilities

Asset and Premises Protection
- Conduct random patrols to deter criminal activities.
- Monitor access points, ensuring only authorized personnel enter.
- Investigate and report suspicious activities or unlawful entries.
Customer and Staff Safety
- Maintain a visible presence to discourage theft, injury, and dishonorable acts.
- Respond swiftly to emergencies and ensure proper protocols are followed.
Operational Tasks
- Maintain registers and occurrence books.
- Conduct thorough searches of personnel and vehicles.
- Oversee refuse removal, ensuring compliance with Dis-Chem standards.
Emergency Handling
- Respond promptly during crises, including robberies or fire outbreaks.
- Provide support to first responders and emergency teams.
- Manage evacuation procedures effectively.
