    SASMT Study Bursary – SAVMO Study Grant
    The South African Society of Music Teachers (SASMT) is pleased to invite applications for the SASMT Study Bursary – SAVMO Study Grant. This biennial grant aims to support dedicated SASMT members who are pursuing further studies in music at a South African tertiary institution. By offering financial assistance, the bursary seeks to encourage the professional development of committed music educators. Members who have been actively involved with SASMT for over two years and meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply.

    SASMT Study Bursary – SAVMO Study Grant Purpose:

    The SASMT Study Bursary – SAVMO Study Grant is a critical initiative designed to support the ongoing education and development of music teachers within South Africa. The primary objective of this grant is to provide financial assistance to SASMT members who are committed to advancing their music studies. This support helps ensure that music educators can continue to develop their skills and knowledge, thereby enriching the broader educational landscape in South Africa.

    Eligibility Criteria:

    • Membership: Available exclusively to  members who have been paid-up for more than two years.
    • Funding Availability: Bursaries are subject to the availability of surplus funds and may be adjusted accordingly.

    • Proof of Acceptance: Evidence of acceptance at a recognized academic institution.
    • Motivation Letter: A written explanation of why financial support is needed.
    • Photo: An electronic photo approximately 500 px in height.

    Additional Requirements:

    Successful applicants will be required to present a paper at the biennial SASMT National Conference, showcasing their research and insights gained during their studies.
