Requirements:

  • Education Requirements:
    • National Diploma in Human Resources Management (NQF 6) or an equivalent qualification. A Degree in HR or Social Science would be advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in a Human Resources environment, ideally in a Clerk or Officer role.
  • Language Skills:
    • Proficiency in English and proficiency in another local language.
  • Computer Literacy:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Driver’s License:
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel Requirements:
    • Willingness to travel within the region as required.
  • Work Attributes:
    • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong attention to detail in all tasks.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of legislation (BCEA, EE, LRA, Skills Development Act).
  • Familiarity with HCM policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Basic financial management and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in administration and data management.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficient HR Administrative Service:
    • Provide efficient and effective HR administrative support.
    • Support the implementation of HCM policies, procedures, initiatives, and systems.
    • Implement the HCM strategy and operational plan.
  • Data Integrity and Management:
    • Ensure integrity of employee data on SAGE 300 and People Management Module.
    • Update structures, establishment tables, and vacancy lists.
    • Administer maintenance of HCM records including biographical information, transfers, promotions, and salary/benefits adjustments.
  • Employee Support and Compliance:
    • Ensure adherence to HCM systems, policies, and procedures.
    • Provide guidance and support to employees and line managers.
    • Field queries and complaints to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Benefits Administration:
    • Provide information on medical aid schemes, pension, and provident funds.
    • Process various withdrawal claims (dismissals, retirements, resignations, UIF, and death claims).
    • Coordinate payments of death claims.
  • Leave and Audit Management:
    • Ensure proper leave management.
    • Conduct periodic audits for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Training and Development:
    • Assist in coordinating and implementing Learning and Development initiatives.
    • Facilitate Employee Wellness interventions and administration.
    • Update information/data for performance management.
  • Labour Relations and Disciplinary Processes:
    • Advise on Labour Relations processes and procedures.
    • Represent HCM in disciplinary hearings.
  • Reporting and Stakeholder Management:
    • Compile and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual HCM reports.
    • Establish and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Assist with recruitment and selection processes.
    • Conduct interviews and coordinate onboarding for new employees.
    • Administer exits such as resignations, retirements, and dismissals.
