1. SHE Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and Learning:
- Shadow a mentor to gain practical knowledge and provide support in SHE activities.
- Assist in compiling Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA) and Aspect-Impact analyses for designated areas.
- Compliance and Monitoring:
- Help ensure compliance with legal requirements, including the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), Air Quality, and Waste Management.
- Support environmental monitoring tasks, such as managing boreholes, dust, and effluents.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Aid in the preparation of monthly reports and sustainability reporting.
- Assist with documenting training sessions in accordance with OSHACT requirements.
- Audit and Inspection Assistance:
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and certification audits.
- Help close findings from audits and manage the recycle centre and waste.
- Contractor and Incident Management:
- Assist with contractor management, including safety file maintenance and site access.
- Participate in emergency exercises and assist in incident investigations.
- Administrative Support:
- Manage administrative tasks related to the SHE office, including updating notice boards and maintaining licenses, permits, and ISO certifications.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in Safety Management, Environmental Science, or Environmental Management.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills with proactive thinking.
- Attention to detail and excellent time management.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

2. Logistics Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Coordination:
- Assist the transport planner with coordinating product movements between sites.
- Support the processing of invoices related to transport and logistics services.
- Monitor and track transport and shipping activities.
- Shipping and Fleet Management:
- Help with shipping coordination as needed.
- Track open transport requisitions and process vehicle insurance claims.
- Maintain the vehicle management system, including scheduling maintenance and issuing allocation letters to user departments.
- Assist with vehicle licensing responsibilities to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Warehouse Management:
- Participate in warehouse management activities such as stocktaking, inventory control, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness.
- Project Assistance:
- Support the logistics engineer in warehousing and logistics-related projects.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements:
- National Diploma in Logistics Management, Transportation, or Operations Management.
- A BCom or BTech in Logistics, Transportation, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering is advantageous.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of regulations and standards for various modes of transport (land, sea, air).
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods handling is a plus.
- Familiarity with route planning and ERP systems (preferably SAP) is beneficial.
- Awareness of lean manufacturing principles and quality control processes.
3. IT Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support:
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware and software.
- Assist with the configuration, building, and maintenance of IT equipment in line with ICT standards.
- Manage warranties and handle the installation and upgrading of equipment.
- Provide user support and training on various IT systems and applications.
- System and Application Management:
- Assist with the roll-out of new applications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of LAN and IP phone connectivity issues.
- Maintenance and Setup:
- Support desktop technicians with their day-to-day tasks.
- Participate in setting up training centers, including hardware and software maintenance and user support.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- National Diploma in Information Technology.
- Certifications:
- A+ and N+ certifications.
- MCDST (Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician).
- MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or similar certification.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Windows 7, 8, and 10 operating systems.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and manage stress effectively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Driving License is required.
- Additional Requirements:

4. Metallurgy Intern
Key Responsibilities:
- Testing and Analysis:
- Operate optical microscopy equipment, including compound and stereo microscopes.
- Perform heat treatment and failure analysis.
- Conduct hardness and tensile testing.
- Utilize an auto-titrator and perform ammonium vapor tests.
- Metallurgical Support:
- Provide metallurgical support and investigative services for RDM.
- Ensure the integrity of RDM products through mechanical, chemical, and micro/macro analysis.
- Contribute to surface treatment, coating, and preservation methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Minimum of Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent qualification.
- S4 or S5 in Metallurgical Engineering is preferred.
- Skills and Requirements:
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Ability to undergo and pass a security screening.
