Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent academic qualification.
- Technical Skills: Experience in the use of radio transmission communication systems.
- Licensing: A valid Driver’s License and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) are mandatory.
Key Responsibilities (Job Outputs)
As a Point Despatcher, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Shift Management: Analyzing shift schedules to optimize efficiency.
- Bus Census and Asset Control: Keeping track of the number of buses in operation.
- Dispatching: Ensuring that buses (shift and private hires) leave on time.
- Radio Communication: Coordinating with both senior management and subordinates via two-way radio.
- Report Preparation: Submitting daily operational reports.
- Maintenance of Registers: Keeping records of all dispatch and operational activities.
- Private Hire Management: Allocating dispatch control (D/C) for private bus hires.
- Incident Monitoring: Reporting breakdowns, loading capacities, and uncovered trips.
- Passenger Interaction: Assisting passengers when required.
Working Conditions
This job requires:
- The ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
