    Requirements

    To be eligible for the Pharmacist Assistant Vacancy, candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • Possession of a Valid Driver’s License (Code B/EB): Ensure you have an active driver’s license, as it may be required for duties involving travel.
    • Demonstrated High Level of Computer Literacy: Proficiency in computer operations is essential for managing the pharmacy system and conducting training sessions.
    • Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification: Your qualification must meet the requirements set by the training facility and the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
    • Qualification for Registration with SAPC: You must possess a qualification that allows registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) (Institutional).
    • Active SAPC Registration: Maintain active registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) (Institutional).

    Experience

    • Grade 1: No experience required after registration with the SAPC as Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) (Institutional).
    • Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years relevant experience as Pharmacist Assistant after registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) (Institutional).
    • Grade 3: Minimum of 13 years relevant experience as Pharmacist Assistant after registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic) (Institutional).

    Duties

    • Support and liaise with facilities utilizing the Medicine Management Systems in the province for client services.
    • Manage all change control processes related to the pharmacy system.
    • Conduct end user training sessions on the effective use of the pharmacy system.
    • Offer operational support at the facilities where the pharmacy system is implemented.
    • Maintain master files to ensure system compliance with current regulations.
    • Facilitate effective communication regarding Pharmacy requirements, data availability, and data quality with relevant stakeholders, including end users and managers.
    • Assist in compiling and maintaining system user manuals and procedures.
    • Aid in the implementation and ongoing support of the Medicine Management System at health facilities.
    • Provide ad-hoc support to the supervisor as required.

    Skills

    To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

    • Proficient in System Support: Effectively manage the Medicine Management systems used in the province.
    • Training Skills: Capable of training end users on system functionalities.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with pharmaceutical regulations and supply-chain management.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to facilitate the change management process within the organization.
    • People Management: Strong people management skills and a positive attitude towards collaboration.

    Salary and benefits

    • Grade 1: R 250,947 – R 285,921 per annum
    • Grade 2: R 290,436 – R 307,221 per annum
    • Grade 3: R 313,308 – R 355,812 per annum
