Broker Internship Description

As a Broker Intern at Old Mutual, you will play a crucial role in delivering personalized financial advice to our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Financial Needs Analyses:
    • Assess clients’ financial situations and identify suitable financial products to meet their needs.
    • Utilize analytical tools to evaluate client data and recommend tailored financial solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering ongoing support and guidance.
    • Regularly follow up with clients to review their financial plans and make necessary adjustments.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and issues.
  • Simplify Complex Concepts:
    • Explain complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner to clients.

    • Guide new clients through the onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition.

Requirements

  • Non-negotiable:
    • Own transport and a valid driver’s license.
    • Completed Matric with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics.
    • Based in Johannesburg.
    • Black South African citizens (Colored, Indian, and African); preference will be given to African females.
    • Unemployed graduates and/or interns between the ages of 18 – 34.
  • Advantageous:
    • Relevant financial services qualification (RE5 according to DOFA date) or equivalent experience.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong product knowledge and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
    • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Recruitment Process

  • Panel Interview: Conducted with two members of the leadership team, including the regional manager and the team leader of the ABS team.
  • Technical & Psychometric Assessments: Depending on the role, these assessments may be conducted concurrently with MIE & internal verification.
  • Final Feedback: Provided after all assessments are completed.
