Job Requirements
To qualify for this Meter Reader position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
Skills & Competencies:
- Computer literacy
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to speak two of the official languages (English and isiZulu)
- Physically fit to walk long distances between meters
- Previous meter reading experience (an added advantage)
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions

Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Reading and recording water and electrical meters following prescribed routes
- Ensuring accurate meter readings and verifying meter data
- Completing readings within deadlines and ensuring they match house and street addresses
- Identifying missing meters and updating the reading sheets
- Reporting faulty meters and any illegal connections
- Delivering municipal accounts to residents
