In a world where innovation meets progress, Siemens South Africa is opening its doors to a young, enthusiastic individual ready to take the first big step in their professional journey. Based in Midrand, Gauteng, this global technology powerhouse is currently looking for a Learning and Development Internship to join its People & Organization (P&O) division.

This full-time, fixed-term role offers a hands-on experience for a recent graduate passionate about education, training, and administrative excellence.

A Launchpad for Future HR Professionals

This internship is ideal for a recent graduate eager to make their mark in the corporate world. The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting the Learning Department—acting as a vital cog in the machinery that ensures Siemens maintains its commitment to employee growth and development. With responsibilities spanning administration, coordination, financial handling, and stakeholder support, this internship is more than just a job—it’s a career springboard.

Core Responsibilities: Making a Real Impact

The intern will work closely with a highly experienced team to manage and coordinate key administrative functions. Their day-to-day duties will include:

    • Coordinating tasks and documentation to reflect Siemens’ high learning standards.
    • Handling financial operations like creating purchase orders, processing invoices, and managing payments.
    • Verifying learning applications, ensuring all documentation and payments align accurately.
    • Offering direct support to employees and external bursars with queries and logistical arrangements.
    • Managing Siemens’ internal learning catalogue and liaising with training providers.
    • Assisting with SETA activities and supporting the Skills Development Facilitators.
    • Maintaining structured filing systems for all training-related records and keeping databases updated.

Through these responsibilities, the intern will develop a deep understanding of learning systems, financial processes in HR, and regulatory compliance—all crucial for any future role in training or HR.

    Ideal Qualifications and Skills

Candidates applying for this role should hold a B.Com Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, HR, Training, or Development. Alternatively, a National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or Learning & Development will be highly advantageous. Prior experience in Learning and Development administration—even as little as one year—will give candidates a valuable edge.

Additionally, Siemens is looking for someone with:

    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or Training Management Systems (TMS).
    • Strong reporting and data handling capabilities.
    • Fluent English communication skills.
    • Ability to work on multiple tasks, maintain records accurately, and solve problems independently.

While not mandatory, certifications such as Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) or a Facilitator Certification from ETDP SETA will be considered a bonus.

    The Perfect Candidate

Siemens seeks an energetic, self-motivated, and client-focused individual with excellent interpersonal skills. The right candidate should be adaptable, proactive, and resilient under pressure. A genuine desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the company’s vision is key to thriving in this role.

Siemens is more than just a company—it’s a culture of innovation, diversity, and excellence. At the heart of their working environment lies a commitment to inclusion, continuous learning, and open dialogue. With a deep respect for privacy and legal compliance (POPI and GDPR), Siemens is also an equal opportunity employer.
