Job Requirements
To be considered for this Law Enforcement Officer position, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Training: Basic training in Policing or Security Field.
- Driver’s License: A valid Code B (or higher).
- Work Experience: At least three (3) years of relevant work experience, preferably in law enforcement.
- Technical Skills: Computer literacy and firearm competency.
- Physical & Medical Requirements:
- Must be medically, mentally, and physically fit to perform law enforcement duties.
- Must be able to work abnormal hours and be available during emergencies.
- Communication Skills:
- Ability to speak, read, and write in at least two official languages, one of which must be English.
- Criminal Record Clearance:
- A valid SAPS clearance certificate (not older than six months) is required at the time of the interview.
- Applicants without a valid police clearance certificate on the interview day will automatically be disqualified.

Key Responsibilities of a Law Enforcement Officer
As a Law Enforcement Officer at Govan Mbeki Local Municipality, your main role will be to ensure the enforcement of municipal by-laws and regulations. Your key responsibilities include:

- Conduct patrols and law enforcement operations to maintain public safety.
