    About the Opportunity

    Each Justice of the Constitutional Court is assisted by two Law Clerks. As a Law Clerk, your primary role will be to carry out legal research for the Justice you are assigned to, contributing significantly to the development of South African constitutional law.

    • Duration of Appointment:
      • January 2026 to December 2026, or
      • July 2026 to June 2027, depending on the Justice’s requirements.
    • Salary: R444,036 per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits.

    Minimum Requirements

    To be eligible for this prestigious role, you must:

    1. Educational Requirements:
      • Hold a Matric certificate plus an LLB degree or equivalent four-year legal qualification (or a postgraduate degree).
      • Alternatively, you may be in your final year of study for such a degree.
    2. Demonstrated Interest in Constitutional Law:
      • A passion for constitutional law and legal research is essential.
      • Academic excellence and prior research experience are highly recommended.
    3. Citizenship:
      • Applicants must be South African citizens.
