Available Positions and Requirements
1. Regional Inspector & Investigations (Legal Services) — Cape Town
- Salary: R397,116 per year
- Requirements: Grade 12, relevant tertiary qualification (Criminal Justice or similar), 1-3 years’ experience in interviews and investigations, driver’s license.
- Duties: Inspect correctional centres, investigate complaints, report writing, and liaise with independent visitors.
2. Visitors Committee Coordinating Officer (VCCO) — East London
- Salary: R325,101 per year
- Requirements: Senior Certificate, degree/diploma in Public Administration or Management, 5 years’ experience in Justice Cluster or supervisory role, valid driver’s license.
- Duties: Supervise Independent Correctional Centre Visitors, manage complaints, coordinate meetings, and conduct performance evaluations.
3. Administrative Clerk — Centurion
- Salary: R228,321 per year
- Requirements: Grade 12, 1-3 years’ admin experience, computer skills, driver’s license.
- Duties: Support services, travel arrangements, document typing, office asset management.
4. HR Personnel Clerk — Centurion (2 Posts)
- Salary: R228,321 per year
- Requirements: Senior Certificate, office admin experience, computer literacy, knowledge of PERSAL is a plus.
- Duties: HR administrative support, staff leave management, filing, performance management.
5. Secretary — Pretoria
- Salary: R228,321 per year
- Requirements: Grade 12, admin and secretarial experience, computer literate, communication skills.
- Duties: Support directors, manage diaries, prepare documents, handle travel arrangements.
6. Independent Correctional Centre Visitor (ICCV) — Multiple Locations Nationwide
- Salary: R85,620 per year + 37% in lieu of benefits (contract)
- Requirements: Grade 12, computer literacy, nominated by community organisation, knowledge of Batho Pele principles, ability to work independently.
- Duties: Visit correctional facilities daily, monitor inmate conditions, handle complaints, report findings.
