Available Positions
1. Engineer (Production Grade A)
- Reference: DSAC-09/05/2025
- Salary: R879,342 – R938,061 per annum (total package)
- Location: Pretoria
This role is suited to a dynamic and multi-skilled professional with a BEng or BSc Engineering qualification recognized by SAQA and registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). Applicants should have at least three years of post-qualification experience and a valid driver’s license.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about South Africa’s sport, arts, and culture infrastructure environment, project and programme management, engineering design and analysis, contract documentation, and relevant legislation including Occupational Health & Safety and National Building Regulations.
Key duties include managing all aspects of infrastructure projects—from planning and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. The Engineer will also be responsible for budget management, tender administration input, record keeping, and liaising with relevant bodies to stay current on new developments in project management.
2. Senior Sport and Recreation Coordinator: Sport Support and Federation Coordination

- Salary: R468,459 per annum (Level 09)
- Location: Pretoria
Candidates with a three-year degree or national diploma in Sport Management, Sport Science, or a related field are eligible to apply. The role requires 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a sport and recreation environment, excellent communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.
This coordinator will oversee funding transfers to sport and recreation bodies, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation of funded programmes. The role includes logistical and administrative support, development and communication of monitoring processes, compliance checks, and liaison services between the Department and sport federations.
3. Senior Sport and Recreation Coordinator: Community Sport Development
- Reference: DSAC-11/05/2025
- Salary: R468,459 per annum (Level 09)
- Location: Pretoria
Applicants must hold a three-year degree or diploma in Sport and Recreation Management, Sport Science, or a related discipline with 2-3 years of experience in sport coordination or promotion.
This position focuses on increasing participation in community sport and recreation programs, especially among target groups. The coordinator will develop frameworks and policies, monitor provincial business plans and grant frameworks, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery.
Key responsibilities include monitoring and evaluating community sport initiatives, supporting provincial sport bodies, and ensuring effective communication and reporting on sport development.
