Conditions for Application:
- Study Mode:
- Only full-time studies will be supported.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be South African citizens and under 35 years of age at the time of application.
- Registration can be at any South African university.
- Only projects aligned with SANBI’s mandate and research strategy will be considered.
- Applicants must spend at least three months in the Western Cape during their study for fieldwork and consultations with SANBI supervisors.
- Research focus must be within the Cape Floristic Region.
- The benefits to Kirstenbosch must be specified.
- Additional Conditions:
- Applicants must not be employed.
- Existing studies or registration for a second Honours, Masters, or Doctoral degree will not be supported.
- Co-funding will be considered if the applicant holds partial scholarships or bursaries.
- For Masters studies, applicants must possess an Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma.
Scholarship Values:
- Honours: R120,000 for one year
- Masters: R150,000 per year for two years
- Doctoral: R180,000 per year for three years
