    About the IT Collaboration Platforms Administrator Position

    • Position: IT Collaboration Platforms Administrator
    • Reference Number: 2024/58/OCJ
    • Salary: R376,413 – R443,403 per annum (Level 08)
    • Location: National Office, Midrand

    Requirements

    • Education: Grade 12 and a three (3) year National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification at NQF level 6 with 360 credits as recognized by SAQA.
    • Experience: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the collaboration platform environment.

    Skills and Competencies

      • Knowledge in messaging and collaboration technologies.
      • Industry certification in relevant technologies or equivalent industry experience.
      • Understanding and commitment to the Department’s ICT policies.
      • Ability to develop and maintain technical capability across diverse and dynamic hardware, software, and technologies.
      • Strong project management, technical skills, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
      • Proficiency in planning and organizing, computer skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively to ensure delivery of ICT infrastructure.
      • Self-motivation, effective communication, resilience, courage, accountability, integrity, and flexibility.
      • Meticulous attention to detail.

    Duties

    • Design, configure, and maintain collaboration platform servers.
    • Troubleshoot issues and monitor collaboration system performance.
    • Provide technical support and develop SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and workflows to meet business needs.
    • Create and configure web parts, forms, and templates to enhance user experience.
    • Implement and maintain SharePoint security policies, permissions, and access controls.
    • Conduct system test plans to ensure quality, performance, and integrity of collaborative platforms.
    • Manage SharePoint sites, accounts, and site configurations.
    • Deploy custom features, monitor bandwidth, manage space, and maintain backups.
    • Oversee Microsoft’s SharePoint and web-based document collaboration platforms.
    • Provide technical advice and third-level escalation support for technology problems.
    • Implement solutions for collaboration platform issues and perform root cause analysis.
    • Manage the Security Validation Program, configure and maintain compliance scans, and address audit queries.
    • Create and enhance processes for unstructured data and support related projects.
    • Maintain SharePoint site directory and site owners list.
    • Archive and remove inactive SharePoint site collections.
    • Administer SharePoint site collection training programs and user access.
    • Provide training and support for site owners on compliance processes and permissions management.
    • Update and maintain the SharePoint Governance site and respond to end-user support requests.
    • Develop and maintain technical and support documentation.
    • Stay current with rules and regulations regarding collaborative environments and data sharing.
