    1. Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP)

    (3 Posts) – 24 to 36 Months Fixed Contract

    • Stipend: All-inclusive stipend of R90,000 – R100,000 per annum.
    • Closing date: Applications close on 24 January 2025.

    Programme Description

    The MFMIP is a structured professional training and work experience programme. It aims to ensure the successful implementation of Budget and Accounting reforms across the District Municipality and selected local municipalities. The programme provides high-quality training and practical exposure in all aspects of a Municipal Budget and Treasury Office, governed by the Municipal Finance Management Act, Act 56 of 2003.

    This internship is a fantastic opportunity for graduates to build technical skills and gain work experience that ends with a qualification in Municipal Finance Management, aligning with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels (Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007).

    Requirements

    • A three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma with majors in one or more of the following:
      • Accounting
      • Economics
      • Finance
      • Risk Management
      • Auditing
    • Candidates must be aged between 21 and 35 years.
    • Must sign an employment contract and internship agreement, committing to full participation in educational and workplace assignments.

    2. Unemployed Graduate Internship Programme

    (2 Posts) – 2-Year Fixed Term Contract

    • Stipend: All-inclusive stipend of R96,000 per annum.
    • Closing date: Applications close on 24 January 2025.

    Programme Description

    This internship is part of SBDM’s drive to promote capacity building and support local municipalities. It is designed to equip unemployed graduates with relevant practical training and work experience in various fields. Graduates from the following local municipalities are encouraged to apply:

    • Blue Crane Route
    • Kouga
    • Koukamma
    • Makana
    • Ndlambe
    • Sundays River Valley
    • Dr Beyers Naude

    The programme offers two exciting positions:

    1. Information Technology Intern
      • Requirements: A National Diploma or B.Tech in Information Technology.
    2. Administration Intern
      • Requirements: A National Diploma or Degree in Public Administration or Public Management.
