    Job Overview: ICT Support

    This ICT Support vacancy at ADvTECH will see you working as part of a dynamic IT team that ensures smooth operation of all applications and related equipment. As an entry-level support technician, you will be expected to respond to and resolve incidents, assist users with systems, and offer timely support to service delivery functions such as computer operations and service desk.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Desktop Support

    • Answer, evaluate, and prioritize user requests for assistance related to services available on the system.
    • Log and track calls via the incident and problem management database provided through the service desk.
    • Handle problem recognition, isolation, resolution, and follow-up on routine user issues. For more complex problems, you will escalate these to the Senior ICT Support.

    Software and Hardware Installations and Support

    • Install desktop and laptop computers for use at the campus, ensuring they have the necessary authorized software.
    • Handle the installation of hardware and peripherals, including monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives.
    • Set up equipment for boardrooms and training rooms, and ensure all tech equipment is functioning correctly.
    • Regularly test video conferencing systems and other IT equipment, fixing any issues that arise.

    Information Technology Administrative Functions

    • Liaise with service providers for repairs and maintenance of IT equipment.
    • Manage the hardware and software asset register and oversee the disposal of old equipment.
    • Administer licensing in the software license bank to ensure all software is up-to-date and compliant.
    • Maintain the IT store room, server room, and office spaces to ensure a safe and organized environment free from hazards.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    To apply for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications and experience:

    • Educational Requirements:
      • A Higher Certificate / Occupational Certificate Level 5 (NQF Level 5) / A+ / N+
      • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Work Experience:
      • 6+ months internship experience in a similar ICT support role.
