Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this Human Resource Clerk position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification. Exposure in human resource management is advantageous. A PERSAL certificate is an added advantage. Priority will be given to EPWP/Interns.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the Public Service Act and Regulations, Skills Development Act, PFMA, Labour Relations Act, PMDS, PSCBC Resolutions, etc.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
    • Sound organizational skills and time management
    • Good telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills
    • Document management skills
    • Office administration competency
    • Ability to handle information confidentially
    • Ability to work independently and in a team

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and administering HR practices, including leave, housing, medical aid, service termination, long service recognition, transfers, pension, and other allowances.
  • Capturing and auditing leave and other time-related data (overtime, night shift, standby).
  • Coordinating various HR meetings and workshops.
  • Managing skills development and training matters.
  • Handling policy and procedures on incapacity leave and ill-health retirement (PILIR).
  • Monitoring compliance with PMDS and maintaining attendance registers.
  • Rendering effective filing and record management services.
  • Operating office machines related to registry functions and handling postage.
  • Conducting physical verification of staff and managing all AG matters.
  • Performing other lawful duties as delegated by the supervisor.
