    Internship Requirements

    Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

    1. Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Organisational Development, Employee Relations, or an equivalent field. Applicants should attach transcripts as proof.
    2. Entry-Level Experience: This opportunity is exclusively for new entrants who have not previously held an HR internship.
    3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite is essential.
    4. Soft Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and an eye for detail.
    5. Nationality: Candidates must be South African citizens.

    • Typing letters, memos, and reports, along with filing documents.
    • Coordinating travel logistics and accommodation arrangements.
    • Rotating across various HR functions for comprehensive exposure.
    • Actively contributing to SMU’s development and fostering a positive institutional culture.

    Interns will report to HR leadership, gaining first-hand experience in all areas of HR and contributing to SMU’s mission of transforming healthcare education.
