Eligibility Requirements
Matric Gap Year Programme (2025)
To be eligible for the Matric Gap Year Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Currently in Matric (Grade 12) in 2024
- Achieved a minimum of 60% in Pure Mathematics or Technical Mathematics and Physical Science
- Willing to take a gap year in 2025
- Willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa for the duration of the programme
- Intend to study one of the listed qualifications in 2026
Bursary Programme (2026)
To qualify for the Bursary Programme, applicants must:
- Complete the Matric Gap Year Programme and meet the criteria for overall site performance
- Be accepted into one of the listed study programmes for the 2026 academic year
- Intend to study at one of the following sponsored institutions:
- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- Stellenbosch University (SU)
- University of Pretoria (UP)
- University of Johannesburg (UJ)
- University of Witwatersrand (Wits)
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
- Nelson Mandela University (NMU)
