Role Overview
In this role, the General Worker will be responsible for:
- Tool & Equipment Management
- Maintaining and organizing special tools and workshop equipment in pristine condition.
- Issuing tools to workshop personnel and tracking their return.
- Arranging tools on boards and documenting their positions.
- Implementing effective control methods to keep accurate records of tool usage, including date, time, and condition.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensuring that all lifting equipment adheres to legal requirements.
- Regularly checking and maintaining safety equipment as per safety registers.
- Fostering a strong safety culture within the branch.
- Claims & Warranty Management
- Overseeing and managing the warranty and claims store with precise inventory control.
- Properly labeling and storing parts, following Volvo’s guidelines for scrapping and removing scrap.
- Collecting information from adjudicators and placing parts in the storeroom, and removing parts from shelves 30 days after credit has been passed.
- Administrative & Organizational Duties
- Maintaining an updated list of suppliers.
- Managing the storage and removal of used oil according to local council regulations.
- Keeping the special tool room and claims store tidy and secure.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- Education: Matric
- Certification: Health and Safety
- Experience: Storekeeping experience
