    Forklift Driver Job Description

    As a Forklift Driver at Tiger Brands, you’ll be responsible for operating a Reach Truck to shift goods and materials within the warehouse, ensuring everything is handled and stored correctly. You’ll also play a critical role in loading and unloading materials, conducting daily vehicle inspections, and maintaining a high level of hygiene and safety standards within the warehouse.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Operate the Forklift: Handle the forklift in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and adhere to stacking rules and safety regulations.
    2. Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring goods are handled properly and signed for.
    3. Stock and Pallet Management: Stack and organize newly received goods based on Warehouse Controller instructions. Help with stock counts and manage CHEP pallet counts.
    4. Safety and Hygiene: Follow all safety regulations and report any unsafe practices or hazards to your supervisor. Adhere to personal and factory hygiene standards and ensure equipment and workspaces are clean and well-maintained.
    5. Maintenance and Inspections: Conduct daily checks and inspections of the forklift, report any deviations or issues to your supervisor, and carry out basic forklift maintenance.
    6. Corrective Actions: Identify appropriate corrective actions when needed, particularly in cases of wastage or safety issues.
    7. HACCP and BRC Compliance: Ensure compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and British Retail Consortium (BRC) principles, maintaining high standards of food safety.
