The Fire Fighter Training role focuses on identifying learning needs, creating effective training materials, and facilitating training sessions for workforce members. This position ensures that all training adheres to the legal requirements and accreditation standards set by authorities like IFSAC and QCTO.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Practices: Maintain adherence to SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) protocols in all training activities.
- Learning Needs Assessment: Identify necessary learning interventions and desired outcomes.
- Facilitation and Assessment: Conduct on-the-job and formal training sessions using a variety of methodologies to enhance knowledge and job performance.
- Material Development: Create, update, and revise learning resources as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of training objectives.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in safety improvement initiatives, performance discussions, and housekeeping activities.
Qualifications and Skills
Education Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematical Literacy or higher equivalent
- Certified Fire Fighter 1 and 2 (NFPA 1001)
- Level 3 First Aid Certification
- Hazmat Awareness and Operations Certifications (NFPA 1072/472)
Experience:
- 0–5+ years of relevant experience

- Understanding critical safety equipment and SHE principles
