Requirements

Key Responsibilities
As a Fire Fighter, you will have a diverse and challenging role. Below are the key responsibilities that will be part of your daily duties:
- Responding to Rescue Instructions: You will be required to respond swiftly and effectively to rescue operations, using appropriate vehicles and equipment for different emergency situations.
- Handling Natural and Man-Made Disasters: Fire Fighters in this position will respond to all forms of disasters, including fires, vehicle accidents, floods, and hazardous material incidents.
- Following Standard Operating Procedures: In emergency situations such as vehicle accidents or incidents involving trapped victims, you must follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure a secure and safe rescue operation.
- Communication with Control Room: Clear communication is vital. You will report to your supervisor and coordinate with the control room during emergency operations to ensure smooth and efficient responses.
- Hazardous Material Incident Response: Fire Fighters must respond to hazardous material incidents, ensuring the safety of both the public and the environment. This requires specialized training in Hazmat Operational/Fire & Rescue.
- Maintaining Fire Hydrants: You will service street fire hydrants as part of preventive measures and report any faults or issues to your supervisor.
- Vehicle Inspections and Maintenance: Daily vehicle checks and inspections will form a routine part of your job. It’s essential to keep all firefighting vehicles in excellent condition to be ready for emergencies at any time.
- Disaster Calls: When a disaster occurs, you will be one of the first responders. You should be ready to attend disaster calls whenever necessary to assist in disaster management and recovery.
- Standby Duties: You will be required to perform standby duties as pre-approved, meaning you may need to be available for emergencies even during off hours.
