    Financial Internship Position Description

    Maruleng Municipality invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Financial Intern. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of financial management, such as accounting, auditing, and financial planning. The internship is set to last for two (2) years, giving candidates ample time to develop their skills and contribute to the municipality’s financial operations.

    Requirements

    To apply for the Financial Internship at Maruleng Municipality, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

    1. Educational Qualifications:
      • A National Diploma or Degree in a finance-related field such as Accounting, Finance, or Auditing.
    2. Skills & Competencies:
      • Computer Literacy is essential, particularly proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
      • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
      • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
    3. Additional Requirements:
      • The successful candidate will be required to undergo security clearance and disclose their financial interests.

    Internship Responsibilities

    As a Financial Intern at Maruleng Municipality, you will be expected to assist with a variety of tasks, such as:

    • Preparing bank reconciliation and managing cash flow.
    • Processing payments for goods and services.
    • Handling revenue and debt collection.
    • Performing asset bar coding and verification.
    • Assisting in the compilation of the budget.
    • Coordinating the acquisition processes for goods and services.
    • Preparing requisitions for goods and services.
    • Compiling monthly financial reports to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and financial records are maintained.
