Job Description
The Finance Graduate will take on multiple responsibilities, all aimed at providing essential support to Adapt IT’s accounting team. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The Primary Responsibilities of the Finance Graduate include:
1. Account Management
- Capturing Purchase Orders (POs) on Sage to ensure all costs are accrued accurately each month, even when invoices have not been received.
2. Invoice Management
- Creating quotes, proforma invoices, and credit notes on Sage as needed.
- Managing monthly invoicing and revenue accrual trackers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Executing month-end invoicing processes, ensuring all client invoices and statements are submitted on time.
- Supporting the Cashbook Accountant by correctly posting payments to customer accounts and accurately allocating funds based on remittance advice.
- Managing accounts receivable (AR) aging, which includes identifying unmatched receipts and liaising with the Cashbook Accountant to resolve any misallocations.
- Following up on overdue invoices, escalating issues to the relevant stakeholders, including the Account Manager, Finance Manager, Divisional Executive, Finance Executive, and COO.
- Providing weekly updates to the group debtors manager, ensuring a consistent flow of information regarding outstanding invoices and customer responses.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (essential).
- Experience: Previous work experience in a financial or accounting role is advantageous, though not mandatory.
