Background Information

• About EWSETA: The Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority (EWSETA) is a statutory body established through the Skills Development Act of 1998. As a pivotal organization in the South African skills development landscape, EWSETA plays a critical role in elevating the national and international status of the energy and water sectors. It serves a diverse range of companies, including large, medium, and small enterprises, as well as levy-paying and non-levy-paying organizations.EWSETA is instrumental in advancing the government’s objectives of promoting active labor market policies, as detailed in the Skills Development Act of 1998 and the Skills Development Levies Act of 1999. These policies are designed to enhance workforce skills and improve employment opportunities across various sectors.

• Internship Program Invitation:
  • Energy and Water Sector Education and Training Authority invites qualified young individuals to apply for its Internship Program for the 2024/25 and 2025/26 Fiscal Years.
  • The internship will last for 18 months.

EWSETA Internship Programme Specializations

1. Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation – Energy Branch:
   • Disciplines:
     • Postgraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering
     • Postgraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering
     • Postgraduate Degree in Petroleum Geosciences
   • Duration: 18 Months
2. Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation – Planning Branch:
   • Disciplines:
     • Research: Postgraduate Degree in Social Science, Psychology, Development, or related fields.
     • Strategic Planning: Business-related degree or any degree with a focus on strategic planning.
     • Monitoring and Evaluation: Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation.
   • Duration: 18 Months
